Lovely gin. Don’t deliver!

Lovely gin, good value. But. Forget ordering unless you live in a city. They’ve changed from Royal Mail to Evri who have dumped our latest box who knows where. Customer service response- contact Evri Evri response no such tracking number (they provided it) and wrong postcode. We’ve been here for 17 years and no-one apart from Evri/Hermes has any trouble. Now to cancel and get my money back on the missing order!

WARNING: IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL!! I had this subscription for two months before deciding to cancel. For £45 it’s definitely overpriced, you get some snacks and miniature gin bottles that you realistically would never buy otherwise. Anyway, it’s now been a further two months and every time I try to activate my online account so that I can cancel the subscription, the website crashes! I have zero issues with any other website and my wifi is fine. It is so infuriating being trapped in this subscription! I have reached out to customer services but it should not be this hard to log in. Seems super dodgy. One of the top searches in relation to the company is “is the craft gin club website down today” so I’m assuming others are having the same issue. I have tried to login on multiple occasions over the last two months while they’ve taken my money 🥲 Save yourself the hassle and just buy a different bottle of gin from the supermarket once a month.

Tried the Taster, came back for the Box!

Signed up for the Taster box, to see what this Gin Club was all about. Received a box with some tasty snacks, and a few gins that both my wife and I enjoyed very much. We are very excited about getting our first box this month. The idea of a curated box put together for me each month, that lands on my door is very exciting. I'm looking forward to the bank holiday weekend and breaking open my new box.

Choose another gin club.. How hard is it to cancel your subscription? Nearly impossible…How hard is it to get a refund? Still waiting! I would not recommend the Craft Gin Club, I experienced poor customer service, I’m shopping for gin elsewhere.

Absolute scam of a company. The cancellation button doesn't actually work so they take the money out of your bank wether you like it or not. When you make a complaint regarding this, they then explain you can return the box at your own cost before they will contemplate a refund.

Beware of any special offers from these crooks. I signed up for a "taster offer" (which wasn't great btw) and it turns out that I'd also been signed up for some sort of membership. I only noticed some weeks later when they'd withdrawn £45 from my account. When I asked for my money back they said I hadn't cancelled in time even though I never signed up for membership in the first place. Sneaky and underhand and best avoided.

I didn't subscribe for their service…

Avoid this scamming company , I applied to get the taster box since it was pretty cheap and I never never subscribed for the membership nor had an account or password, yet a month later I discovered an email saying your box of gin is shipped!!! And my account was charged for £45!!!! I didn't subscribe for their service yet they charged me £45 for a gin box I don't even drink gin!! I contacted consumer service reporting there were no help they said the box is ready and you cannot cancel it, and they said if you want to cancel the membership you cannot do it online you have to call us , and I waited for many hours to cancel a membership I never created and I been on emails talking to them all day to cancel this delivery and refund me and they refused saying we have 40000 boxes and we need to ship them, avoid at all cost do not provide them with your bank information, do not get lured with the free box its a trick!! Oh and I will report them and file a case with the bank, they have refused to cancel the delivery and they insist on delivering a box I didn't request!! Avoid!!

Dreadful - Dark Patterns Subscription Service

Dreadful - Dark Patterns Subscription I bought ONE £45 box, as a gift for somebody else (I’m not even a drinker). Upon realising it was a subscription service, I responded to their email (in writing) to cancel, which was never acknowledged. Much to my dismay, shortly after this I received a notification that they’d taken another £45 - as I’d cancelled my subscription, when this package arrived I refused it at the door and returned it to the sender at their expense but again, never received a refund or any acknowledgement of me having returned it. This morning, I received another email thanking me for a FURTHER payment of £45, so I immediately rang the customer care line which seems to be the only way to cancel. When I eventually got through, the telephone operator told me that they’re an outsourced call centre who actually have no power over my account, I asked to be put through to somebody in house but this was not possible. I then raised a support ticket, asking for a refund for the box I’d already returned and that as I had not had any confirmation that the next box had been dispatched, they would not send it and that they reverse the charge accordingly. The reply I received was shocking, Chaney on the subscription team sent me a scripted response, making it clear that regardless of the fact they hadn’t yet sent me anything, they would not be reversing the charge as they’d already placed their orders with the suppliers and that furthermore they would not be cancelling my subscription. Truly shocking, immoral and unethical. I expect a £90 refund and for my subscription to be cancelled with immediate effect, otherwise I will take this matter to Martin Lewis and Trading Standards. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

Terrible service all round

Terrible service all round. Offer discounts for nhs etc but hit a blank page any time you try to link it. Can only cancel by phoning where they put you on hold and then hang up on you. Not very inclusive for people who struggle with phone calls for whatever reason and wasted my time. No idea why you can’t cancel online like every other subscription service

Redeeming a gift voucher nightmare

Redeeming a gift voucher is a bit of a nightmare. You can't do it from your phone (it's 2023...), once you're on their website it's almost impossible to find the location to redeem a voucher, it all takes you to where you buy one. You can't find out which month's box you will receive or when you will receive it until after you enter your voucher code and confirm. Why not say in advance the dates when boxes are being delivered so that you know which month's box you're getting and roughly when? I thought I'd get May's box as the April boxes have already been delivered to members, but now I'm getting April's box next week when i am at work. Not even sure what happens when I'm not in and it's alcohol being delivered? i just expected a better website and more relevant information form such a well known company

Charged without signing up to it

I bought a 4.99 Vodafone test box Next thing I know I'm being charged 45 a month to receive their monthly boxes. I did not agree to it. I didn't not sign up to it. I didn't enter my details to subscribe to the box. Becareful. Signs of fraud. Opening an investigation with ombudsman to look into this.

1) The company does not make customers aware of their intention to debit their bank accounts prior to taking the monies out. Potentially causing customers to go overdrawn 2) Once the box is on its way, at the point of delivery you can refuse the delivery & tell courier to return to Craft Gin Club without it costing the customer. You can only do this if you are at home!! I made sure my neighbours were aware not to accept this box, so having acted in good faith, to stop this being delivered Evri in their wisdom just dumped it on my doorstep & didn’t bother to knock on my neighbours door 3) Craft Gin Club now expect me to arrange a courier collection & pay for posting it back. 4) Shane there is no “Goodwill” element on the part of Craft Gin Club

Delivered Tuesday, ordered Wednesday of the week before. Box dumped beside the wheelie bins. I thought the wine and beer scam was bad enough, but at least received three bottles of wine and six bottles and cans of beer respectively, with the gin scam, three miniatures (not even 500ml bottles) two were the same gin, the other whiskey. The scam for all three, receive a guest sample box, only to find have signed up for a subscription, and like Hotel California, can get in but can’t get out. It’s a scam. Taster box,find have signed up for a subscription. If it was not a scam, would order a taster, then sign up, if impressed. But no, automatically signed up, requests to cancel are ignored. At least with the wine and beer scam, receive three bottles of wine, six cans or bottles of beer. With the gin scam, miniatures, not even 500ml bottles. Two of the three miniatures were the same gin, the third miniature was whiskey. Now when I last checked, whiskey was not gin. Award winning gin. Er, the Great Taste Award scam. Producers pay for the worthless black stickers. Also in the box, glossy mag, a few snacks, a bottle of Schweppes, can of fuzzy water. At least with wine and beer scam, receive a readable magazine. The glossy gin mag an appalling waste of trees. No paperwork in the box listing contents, order number. The 'subscription' don't know what will receive, signed up for a pig in a poke. I’ve requested CANCELLATION of my subscription. I'm still waiting confirmation. --- update --- Three days of hassle, finally received confirmation that my 'subscription' was CANCELLED. Was the taster box worth the hassle? No.

Poor delivery service

Gin is nice and the extras you get are lovely. It is expensive but it's lovely getting a box and not knowing what you're getting. Only issue is that my most recent box has been sent via EVRI who may deliver any day in the next week at anytime between 7am and 10pm. Delivery by EVRI is a deal breaker when it's a regular delivery with the constant worry about if and when you'll get your box.

Beware! Shady Business Practices

I recently signed up for a discounted Gin Taster Box which I thought was good value for 8.99. Whilst there were some nice items included, I personally felt that it was nowhere near the value that it's sold for at full price (which I believe is closer to £40. When I decided to cancel my membership, I discovered upon logging into my account that I would have to phone up to do so, which is not what is said online- already not good. When I rang up the woman on the phone was very pushy and tried to get me to sign up to about a dozen other subscriptions offered by the company, even after I said I wasn't interested and just wanted to cancel my membership. Really poor business practices and for the products it wasn't worth it at all. Avoid!!

Gone downhill and not worth the money!

Recently rejoined this service, well what a waste of time that was! One item arrived leaked so everything was sticky and that item was binned, the cocktail crush had a date of January on the bottle… I hope this was a created date and not an expiry otherwise it was out of date by 2 months! Tried to cancel my subscription, the website use to be really user friendly… however I cannot even login! Tried multiple times over multiple days on different devices. Managed to get customer service to cancel, but what a stressful and disappointing experience! Will not be rejoining and will not be recommending like I have in the past as this used to be a good subscription for gin lovers. Now it just feels like a sham.

Bad customer service

I've had boxes on and off from this company for a whole and thought they were a decent company. Sadly, I'm finding them very disappointing. They sent a message saying they'd taken payment for a box I emailed the same day I got the email to ask to cancel but was told the cut off to cancel was the 22nd I emailed on the 23rd the date they sent the email to say funds had been taken. They won't stop the box or refund me even though they won't be posted out for days yet. Money is more important to them than customer service. It was the email that reminded me I needed to cancel so maybe they need to consider when they send out the email. It needs to be a couple of days before cut of to cancel to enable people that wish to cancel the time to do so. Also quality not as.good. The treat are now very wacky flavours so often don't get used or binned. Such a shame as.i would have gone back after a.few months but not now. Look at other companies out there before joining this one.
