Sunday, I visited the Omaha store and was looking for a canvas and was not finding the size I was looking for. When I asked for help in finding an alternate size I was told "Art is a very personal thing". OK, I get it but are there optional canvas sizes that could meet my need? We are talking an art supply to create art not art. When I tried to explain why I was looking for help and that I had driven al long way, the cashier evidently didn't like my tone of voice and became defensive and I was told by her that I shouldn't talk to her that way (what way?) and I should leave. I had a purchase I had bought the previous day with me and I didn't think would work for me, so I said I soon as I got the credit I would leave the store. I was then told by the cashier that the staff was just minimum wage earners paid to cash out customers and had no knowledge of art or art supplies. (salesperson 71700). She handled my return expediently and I left. Unfortunately, given my treatment, I doubt I will ever return to the store and its going to be tough to continue to refer other people there. I had been to this store several times before and was able to get assistance and had referred others there. Unfortunately, one bad experience takes away three good experiences.
This company is beyond real, I order 2 items that listed available, and I had a big order and mostly were gifts for Xmas and I was traveling so dates are imp. They ship all the items except for 2 And they fail to mention that these 2 items were on back order. I receive an email a week later saying sorry these items didn't ship. I complain, they said they made a mistake Ans didn't update their system, buy dont worry we will ship one of the items soon. Today they shipped it and charged me 15.75 $ shipping for one tube of paint that fosted 14$?! And I had free shipping with the initial order, so noni got screwed with it. I have been using this shop for a long time, but this was beyond anything I experienced with an open shop! Ill never be using their shop again! Be aware!
Ordered a large frame for $70, it arrived broken and was of very poor quality. I wrote a review stating this, did not request or initiate a replacement. The company sent me one anyway, also terrible, also broken. I told them this one also arrived broken but made it clear I was only giving feedback. They sent a THIRD anyway and are now threatening to charge me for the extra frames they decided to send and now want back. I just want them to leave me alone, but they're ignoring that part.
Great place to find paint brands that other competitors do not carry. Make sure to shop around when you are looking at brushes/brush cleaning supplies however. On several instances I have found that Cheap Joe's (even Amazon) offers hefty discounts for the same product.
I just bought an easel light from them, a Smart clip-on lamp. It's the best thing since sliced bread. I love it!!! Now I can paint at night.

We went into the Kenmore store in Boston to look at easels. The sales associate spent time with us going over pros and cons which was very helpful. I ended up buying the one on sale which was perfect for me!
