Good product, terrible service.

I have installed about 10 different radiators now and fo the most part they have been good. However it's how a company behaves when it's not going well that marks them out. This is the problem I have one radiator which has stopped working and is still in warranty. I have tried to call and email Electric Radiators Direct and I have had no response. It's a real shame as I say their products seem to be good overall. However after sales service is just not there.

Ecostrad IQ Ceramic heaters

Our landlord decided to fit Ecostrad IQ Ceramic heaters and they are awful. The most cheaply made items imaginable. They rattle when you lightly touch them. The control dims and disappears when pressed. The brochure describes "40 minutes extra heat after switch off" though they don't stay warm for 5 minutes. At 10 minutes they are literally back to cold. They make knocking and clicking noises when they are on and they are ridiculously hard to use as the controls make no sense. The middle gets extremely hot so much so that it could burn you. The rest of the front is only luke warm. Only one will connect to the WiFi and that has taken hours to manage so we can't really use the app either.

Huge saving

Was originally going to go with one of the big companies who supply and install electric radiators but, after being harassed to speedily agree to their quote, I looked round for a different option. We ended up buying 4 radiators from ERD and having them installed by a local electrician, thereby saving a whopping £3000. All simple to operate (we don't need the wifi option) and very effective.

Moda Opal Smart Electric Radiator

Wouldn't recommend. Bought this smart radiator from electricradiatorsdirect.ie Their programming via 'Smart Life App' is laughable. The radiator doesn't shut down, the programming was done by monkeys apparently, so you either have it on eco mode, comfort and if you no longer want to have it on your only option is to leave it on antifrost. So it's on all the time or remember to shut it off. This is a fire hazard and I wouldnt be comfortable having it on antifrost at 5 degrees even. Your option is only for 1 hour at a time so no half hour etc just 1 to 24 hours. It doesn't have a handle so if not mounted to wall it needs to be lifted else where which is a pain in the but as its cumbersome. Don't buy it. The programming let's the whole thing down, over designed and not fit for purpose in my view and the elimination of a handle for when it's free standing.

Just be prepared to chase your refund

Just be prepared to chase your refund, and wait for a minimum of 8 weeks. Their courier doesn't have great communication with the company, so make sure you receive the correct product.

Faulty unit speedily replaced

A radiator I bought from electric radiators direct didn’t seem to work properly and even though it’s been a few months after I purchased it ERD recalled the unit, tested it and found it faulty. I had a replacement unit with me and up and running with a few days. Free of charge and super efficient. I also recommend using their helpline if you have any questions with the set up. Very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

APPALLING!!!

I placed an order with them in Dec 23 and paid over £300 for the radiator. I have been told by the Nathan from customer service that the delivery will be on 08 Jan 24. Once I paid, Nathan emailed me that the item will be dispatched end of January 24 and delivered 02 February 24. Not what I agreed for but I accepted this. I took the day off to be at home that day - it was winter and I really needed a radiator! I however didn’t receive any information re delivery window. I emailed customer service just to find out the radiator will not be delivered on 02 Feb 24, but 26 Feb 24, so almost another month of waiting. Nobody even cared to let me know! 26 Feb 24 the radiator of course didn’t arrive. Extremely upset I emailed customer service for the refund. Nathan’ response was “the item has been delivered and if you wish to receive a refund you must return the item”. Their courier does not have any evidence of delivering the parcel - my signature has been forged. After few days of exchanging unpleasant emails and suggesting I’m in a wrong, they admitted they are in a wrong and confirmed the full refund has been issued. 30 min later again email from them claiming the item was delivered. This company held my money for 2 months and now they refuse to return them. Scammers, avoid at all cost!!!

This is one of those if I could give 0 stars I would reviews. Waiting 3 weeks for a refund on a product and still yet to receive it. Been told 3 times now that I’ll receive it shortly to then have to chase and be told the accounts team need to process it. Would not recommend.

DO NOT USE! 6 months after using my radiator made a huge bang and stopped working. This was months ago and their courier has not been to collect it despite this being rebooked 4 times! So I am still left without heating and £600. Customer services is awful and run by children who don’t know what they are doing.

Ecostrad radiator lasted 2 years only no help

I ordered an Ecostrad radiator 2.5rs ago. It now turns on but no heat emits. Calling the customer services I was told the 10 year warranty was only on the body and that the electrics were on a 2 year warranty. I asked for an exchange or repair- even offered to pay the repair to get my radiator back in the cold weather. The lady apologised around 10 times and her only solution was the January sale they had on. The warranty isn’t clear. Trading standards suggests white goods should last 5-6 years- paying £300 for one radiator thinking I was ok for a long time- I got only 2 years. It’s too much money to spend to get no reaction or support. I’d like an exchange at least. There are several complaints on here with the same issues. It’s not good enough. I have had hairdryers last longer

Really disappointed - Ecostrad IQ ceramic radiators

Really disappointed with the Ecostrad IQ ceramic radiators I bought from this company. Really inefficient, expensive to run (despite their claims) and my flat never actually heats up to the temperature I set the radiators to - despite them being on for hours at a time. Having used for a few months now, I can confirm: don’t believe all the marketing, unfortunately there’s nothing special about these heaters at all so definitely not worth the price.

Ordered a radiator on 5.1.24 to be delivered two days later for an extra £20 No communication and no radiator and still on 10.1.24 the phone line has been constantly engaged An email sent yesterday was responded to today The radiator is out of stock and may be in on Friday This is a week late They should not have accepted the order so this is a breach of contract I have already cancelled my fitter this week and the only day he can come is this Saturday This is not good enough I have asked them to phone us but silence Not good service
