Bad experience, company has NO integrity.

My son-in-law purchased me a birthday gift subscription back in March of 2021. I was thrilled and enjoyed the tasting boxes and the different bottles that I chose during my membership. In February of 2023 I thought I would purchase their “Thoughtful membership “. I wasn’t really sure what it amounted to, I thought the same as before. For my Thoughtful membership I took two tasting boxes. I assumed I would be receiving notifications of when I was going to be able to pick more as before, nothing. There was also an additional charge on my account of over a hundred dollars! I have all these funds going out but nothing to show for it. February of 2024, there’s a charge on my account of $339! I contacted my card company and they gave me the name of the company that charged me, Flaviar. I told them that I had not purchased anything from them. I thought the account was closed. I disputed the charge. I lost the dispute due to the clause that membership is automatically renewed. I contacted Flaviar and they contacted me back. They said they would not refund my money, I was just short of their deadline. And on top of that Flaviar no longer ships to my state, so…. I am out a lot of money with nothing to show for it. This company has no integrity. I do not recommend that you purchase anything from them.

This company seems to have some very significant integrity issues. Got a subscription from my kids for Christmas 2023. The first shipment was delayed one month: lots of excuses. The second shipment was delayed two weeks. Then I was told that they could no longer ship to Tennessee and my subscription was canceled. No offer of a refund. No offer to ship to another address in another State. I do NOT recommend this company.

Not a very honorable business

Not a very honorable business. Ordered green chartreuse. 10 days in they said there was a delay. Around day 14, they sent me a note that they would refund my money. Not great but that is not what disappointed me. They accidentally sent me a second note saying my order was cancelled “due to negative margin”. This lead me to check out the site at which time I discovered they had the product still listed but with a higher price. In other words, they found they could sell it for more than they sold it to me so cancelled my order. I raised this point to them so they offered me a $10 discount off the new price, which made the new price +$70! Thought people would like a small insight into the integrity of this business

Gifting a Membership

I bought a membership for my dad for father's day. The membership makes it look like you are only paying for 2 deliveries. It even says on the "tag" on their website, 2 deliveries pre-paid in full. However, I was being charged quarterly for the membership. I found the info on the website very misleading. Maybe it was stated somewhere else that this would happen, but I just went back through the process of giving a gift to someone else, and nowhere did I see I'd continue to be charged quarterly. I find it strange that when purchasing a gift, the membership would auto-renew. That's why I bought a specific membership -- I only wanted to gift 2 deliveries. Customer service is currently working with me, and it sounds like they're willing to refund the unused credits. I will say that they got back to me very quickly, and I appreciate that. I just found the gifting information to be misleading. Additionally, 2 of my dad's tasting samples arrived broken, and I don't believe he ever received new ones. I was a bit disappointed in that as well. Overall, it was a fun idea, but I'm not sure I would recommend it to anyone else.

Flaviar is the poorest run subscription service

Received as a gift from my wife for Christmas. I placed my first order on January 26, 2024 and never heard from them after being given a tracking number. After a couple of weeks of no contact by Flaviar I reached out to the actual shipping company who said the order was lost. I contacted Flaviar on several occasions to notify them, but received little to no response. After weeks of no contact again they finally said they would reship my items. It’s now March 7, 2024 and no items have been shipped. This time their email basically told me sorry for the delayed response we have just had so many inquiries to respond too. This is the poorest run subscription company I’ve ever encountered. They do not deserve a 1 star rating but it is the lowest you can give. Stay clear of Flaviar and do not waste your money with them. There are too many great companies out there to waste time and money with Flaviar

Little to no customer service

UPDATE: I did receive my order, 17 days after it was placed. One of the bottles' seal was torn, and a small amount of bourbon leaked out. I took pictures and sent them to customer service, asking if there was anything they could do to make the whole experience right. I also included a reminder that the items in that shipment was way late and had not received a reply on that situation. The reply was received about 12 hours later that there was a known issue with that particular bottle, but it did not appear that my bottle or the liquid inside had been compromised. Their offer of compensation was $20 off a future order. Like I am ever ordering from them again. Placed a huge $1500+ order, and while a couple of the bottles came within a week, over half took 10 days, and 1/3 took two and a half weeks. As of today, I still have not received the last shipment. There was no official response from Flaviar to my complaint, only an automated email to tell me a shipping label had been created, only to take another 2 days to get into UPS's hands. As inflated as their prices are, I would expect slightly better service. I am not asking for next day shipping, but I don't think a week is unreasonable.

This is my personal "less than 1 star" experience

This is my personal experience with Flaviar. First of all, I broke rule #1 of online purchasing by not looking Flaviar up on the Better Business Bureau website. But I was excited to see a certain whisky. It should have arrived just after Christmas (12/27). On 12/23, I got an email saying it was delayed, no harm, no foul…it was Christmas and to be expected. Finally, 12/27 AND 12/29 (twice) I got emails saying it shipped and to expect it in around 10 days. 11 days later I got an email saying it was still in transit. At this point I got an email in which they said the “final mile carrier” attempted delivery and I was not home to accept it. This is absolutely false. I work from home and have been home every day. I also verified on my home security system that no delivery was attempted. I’ve emailed with Flaviar support with this information for the last week (there is no number to speak to a human…only an answering machine on which you must leave email address for them to reply to email). I have requested the name and number of the final mile carrier FOUR TIMES IN WRITING to verify they have the correct address and also to schedule delivery. Flaviar has since replied again saying a 2nd attempt at delivery was made and I was not here to accept it. Again, completely false. I work from home. I’ve been here every day, not even leaving for lunch. I went through my security cameras again and at no time did any attempted delivery show up at any door, window, or throughout my yard. I have requested the final mile carrier again, fifth time. Thankfully I do keep all correspondence and security footage.

Good and Bad

First, the good. Haven’t sampled the order yet, but the packaging is outstanding. The presentation is very classy and I love it. The bad, it took a long time to arrive. We paid on 12/26/2023 and it arrived today 1/16/2024. It was taken from Grand Prairie, to Austin, then back to Grand Praire for a few days, then me. It makes me concerned about ordering something in addition to the subscription.

SCAM - Not possible to redeem paid benefits

I got a yearly membership gifted which includes quarterly access to a free bottle from flaviar.com. After redeeming the gift card my account shows now that I am active member with benefits. However every time I try to claim my benefits, I can not proceed as en error shows up. I tested this many times again over the course of the next weeks from different browsers and devices with the same result. This clearly shows me that their website is broken and they have no intent to fix this as they customer already paid them. I already reached out to the support in mid November and they are very slow in answering and only give generic answers. After two months my problem is still not solved and I can not use the benefits that are already paid for. I would highly recommend to avoid this website as their are either not willing to fix their website und unable to do so!

Crazy, sketchy, convoluted gift card redemption

Crazy, convoluted process to activate a gift card. My daughter sent me a pre-paid gift card and you have to give them your credit card info to activate it!! They also don't return emails (took 3 weeks to get a reply) and they have no phone support whatsoever. In their email, they also wrote "If you don't checkout the gift card properly you will be charged!!"
