Well, I think the experience has been off a little bit from its peak. Like so many things food related, corners are being cut across the board to keep costs down. I guess its good prices haven't increased but it seems ingredient number and type is less. The sirloin steak quality which I have ordered regularly once a week is becoming tough, with little if any marbling. It has become a disappointment.
Marley Spoon is one of the best meal kits out there! They offer many choices on a weekly basis, some recipes are customizable regarding protein choice. I feel their price point is fair as well.
The customer service was horrible. I was just browsing and somehow ended up with a box that I didn’t want so I tried to get a hold of them and they were totally unavailable to help me. They’re very expensive. The meals are horrible. I just don’t think they’re even close to a four star. There is no way to respond but I did contact you directly but never was able to talk to anyone. My experience is not a good one but I’m sure others have had different, maybe better experiences. I’m not sure if it matters but I work full time and take care of mom full time. I have to be very careful with every dime. It was just a shock because I didn’t expect it. Anyway what is done is done. Thanks for responding
The food is always delivered on time, is in good condition and set up on our porch. We then receive an email stating it has been delivered. The food is always fresh and all items are in the box.
I like Marley spoon. Once the on track delivery service finally decided to start leaving the packages up by the house instead of down at the road. All the deliveries have been without a hitch. The ingredients are fresh. The recipes are fairly easy to follow there seems to be a wide choice. so all a good experience
Recipies are delicious. Don't take a lot of time to make.
Top meal service to date! Our family has tried at least 5 other "shortcut" meal services where ingredients are sent with instructions, and I prepare the meal myself. I was not trained as a cook, but have had great success with this service. The instructions are generally spot on, the recipe choices are varied and allow for our low-calorie, low gluten, low carbohydrate choices. Ingredients are high quality, well-packaged, and stay fresh until the end of the week.
If you’ve ever thought about using a meal recipe service, do it. Marley Spoon restored my faith in these types of subscriptions. The recipes are tasty and fairly easy to prepare. When you’ve worked all day it makes it so convenient to prepare a nice meal. I’ve made a point to cook things I wasn’t familiar. That’s been a good strategy so far.
Good variety of foods and quality products and produce. My major complaint is the lack of whole grain options. The rice and breads are always white. I also wish the service provided the option of removing some items from a box. In my case it would be cilantro. I do appreciate the high protein options. They've also recently provided more meals using cauliflower rice and sometimes zucchini noodles.
I love Marley Spoon. They pick the recipes that they offer me from my preferences and many times I do not change the preselected ones. The ingredients are always correct and fresh. If the recipe calls for a clove of garlic they send the whole bulb. Many of the recipes can be cooked in 20 to 30 minutes and are absolutely delicious. What could be better than that?
I reported that my most recent box was stolen from my porch due to the delivery person leaving it in plain sight and have not heard back in 4 days. I am disappointed in the lack of customer service.
Marley Spoon has easily outclassed the competition. As a frequent and long time consumer of Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, Hungry Root and Home Chef’s meal kits I can confidently say Marley Spoon has superior ingredients and recipes. I have cooked nearly 2000 unique meals with the other services. MS has provided techniques and quality recipes with distinctly fresh and speciality ingredients that are a tier above the competition. As far as pricing goes I am still happy with it being 33% more expensive than Hello Fresh and 12% more than Blue Apron. In terms of complexity, you don’t want to be a novice with many of these recipes as tools like the Broiler are not as forgiving as other meal kits’ simple fry, sauté or bake options. It is not the same brand heavy/ grocery experience as Hungry Root, and seems to lack a weekly meal prep option.
Never delivered kept rescheduled
I love the recipes!!
Do not subscribe to this service! On multiple occasions we had issues with ingredients and/or delivery - damaged box, delivery over 24 hours late, spoiled ingredients which made the meal incomplete or unable to prepare. Customer Service is terrible.
Excellent delivery by FedEx. Great quality ingredients. Tasty and varied recipes.
There is no accountability for damaged, rotten or items missing. I have received bad fish and emailed with no response. The delivery is not consistent. If Tuesday is the assigned delivery day each week I may get a text that it will be delivered, then wont show up for another day.
Love the recipes but way too expensive to keep for too long wish this was the long term solution I need but affordable is just as important as taste!!
fresh food as described. not a waste of surplus packaging material. I like the tray on the inside to hold ingredients goes straight into fridge as is. only suggestion would be offering alternate suggestions on recipe cards like if you don't have vinegar what can you use to substitute. I called when I was making the food but the lady on the phone was not able to answer my question that is the only reason for not 5 stars. But i love the recipe cards and plan of keeping all of them to remember and use again in the future.
They are consistently good, no missing or wrong ingredients like some other food deliveries. Easy to follow instructions and taste yummy
