This is a great bed

This is a great bed. We purchased one last year and not only do I love it, but its GOTS organic. I also love their latex pillows because you can take out the latex and make them squishier or firmer. I also love how this company is a small family business that uses Amish workers to hand stitch everything. Forget the naysayers...this is a great company!

Naturepedic EOS took some tweaking to get it just right!

We purchased the Naturepedic EOS pillow top Dunlop latex mattress in king size. Plush 8" coils for both sides. My layers were soft on bottom, medium layer on top. I weigh 128lbs and have back issues. My husband had both his layers in firm. He is 218lbs. We previously had a Talalay OMI latex bed that lasted 13 years. We liked the idea with the Naturpedic mattress that we could have different firmnesses on each side. I had high hopes for this bed. It is made really well. It was way to firm for me and made my back sore along with my shoulder. I needed more of a cushiony feeling on top. I tried swapping the layers but nothing seemed to work. My husband ended up swapping his bottom layer out with a soft layer and that worked out well for him. He liked the bed and I really did not want to start all over again looking for a new mattress. I found the perfect solution. I knew Talalay latex was more bouncy and buoyant, so I started looking for a 3" topper/layer that I could replace the top 3" Dunlop layer with. I found the most wonderful company out of CA called Flobeds. They make a 3" Talalay latex layer called vZone it is amazing. It is around 6 different pieces of latex in different firmness to accommodate for your shoulders, hips and feet. After speaking with them I confirmed the soft configuration would work best for me. It came and I swapped it out with Naturpedics 3" medium Dunlop layer. WOW I could tell a difference immediately. I gave it a couple nights to see if it was going to work. It was almost perfect but I still felt I could use a little more plushness on top. Low and behold I found online what I needed to complete our new bed. A company called Turmerry sales a 1.4" Dunlop egg crate topper in medium firmness. I was concerned with it being Dunlop that it might be too firm. Flobeds does offer a Talalay egg crate topper but it was quite a bit more expensive and we had already spent so much on our new bed, I thought I would give the Turmerry topper a try. It arrived and we put it directly under our fitted sheet with the egg crate facing upwards. That night I slept like a baby. My husband woke up and said that he really liked it and it was a good find. I feel I now have the perfect bed for both of us. I wake up in the morning with no shoulder or back pain.

Horrible Experience - Naturepedic EOS Mattress

I bought the Naturepedic latex mattress as a replacement for a Pure Talalay Bliss mattress that had become too soft over time. This purchase is the worst mistake of my life. I spent considerable time in the store laying on different configurations of the EOS latex mattress to get the right comfort and support, all to no avail. After receiving the mattress, it was much firmer than the store models and caused me hip and shoulder pain. I did a layer swap, still too firm. I reconfigured it, still too firm. I even bought a $400 2" Talalay topper and am still having hip and shoulder pain. Unfortunately, there is now a major supply chain issue and Naturepedic is very inflexible with their return period, even during a pandemic. I have tried and can't get a replacement bed from another company so that I can return the Naturepedic mattress and get my money back within the 90 days. This has been a $3000+ mistake. Naturepedic has not been understanding at all and I wish I had never heard of this company. What's truly ridiculous about this situation is that Naturepedic is happy to have me donate the bed and show proof of donation to get a refund. So the inflexibility regarding the return rate is doubly confusing to me.

Outstanding comfort, fantastic customer service, but latex smell

For customer service and mattress comfort, I give this company five stars. They have been fantastic on every level, especially during the pandemic. The only ding comes from the ongoing smell of the latex. I have had this bed for more than three months now and it still smells of latex. If I flip my pillow over in the middle of the night, I will smell the latex on the bottom side of the pillow. It is an inconsistent smell, though, and seemingly activated by body heat. So now my new ritual is to change my sheets, wash my pillows, unzip my mattress casing and air out the latex every week or so. But it is annoying to spend so much money on a mattress only to have it deposit a latex smell in your hair, pillows, sheets, and pajamas. That said, the EOS pillow top mattress is fantastic for comfort and support. I liked being able to customize the support layers in the trial period, too. In the store, a firm coil with a firm support latex layer and a medium pillow top latex layer seemed to be the best. But after sleeping on it, that wasn't the best combination. I preferred a firm coil with a firm latex support layer and a soft pillow top latex layer. That was great for sleeping on my back or front, but not quite as comfortable for sleeping on my side. So I ended up ordering the organic wool topper from Naturepedic and that made it ideal. So now I am very pleased with the temperature regulation of the wool topper, the comfort and support of the bed, and the lack of chemical foam to irritate my asthma. I'm just left with the smell. I'm hoping it will eventually dissipate but as it's about the same as it was when I purchased it, I don't think it will change. It's not unpleasant, but it is present. So sensitive noses, you are forewarned. Is it worth the organic comfort and support? Yes -- that's why I kept the mattress. But I do wish it weren't so strong.
