Terrible customer service

I’m having a terrible experience with this company. We bought a plastic trumpet in late December (just over a month ago) for our five year old son. The valves have been sticky from the start, and we contacted them about this. Last week a part of the tubing fell straight off of the instrument in my sons hand. When I contacted their customer service about this, they told me they’d been in touch with the manufacturer, who wee very surprised that this has happened and apparently told Norman’s to advise us to glue it back together. So we’ve had it just over a month, it has never worked properly, has now fallen apart and they think it’s acceptable to tell me to glue it back together. They seem to be trying to refuse me a refund now, so I’m going to contact my credit card provider and let them deal with it. Really unacceptable customer service, ignoring their responsibility under consumer rights legislation and trying to pass the buck to the manufacturer. Terrible. I honestly can’t think of a customer service experience as poor as this.

I bought a blueburst 1/2 size guitar…

I bought a blueburst 1/2 size guitar 27th October and last week noticed that there is a fault in the paintwork resulting in cracking at the base of the guitar. I contacted Norman’s to be told that it was bought in October, it’s cosmetic and doesn’t affect play, should it worsen or affect play in future let them know. So basically tough luck!! The guitar is not even 2 months old. I’m very disappointed, whether it’s cosmetic or not it shouldn’t happen in a relatively new product. Also as it’s cracked aesthetically it will get worse. I guessed that is what can be expected from their products!

Extremely poor customer service

Purchasing the keyboard was a good experience, however less than a year in, it developed a fault. Normans picked up the keyboard, which we believed was being sent back to Yamaha for investigation, instead it was returned to Normans. I only found this out a week later, when I contacted Normans for an update on Yamaha's progress, only to be told that the keyboard had just been picked up by Yamaha that day - it had sat at Normans for six working days. I informed Normans that I was not happy with this, and would be grateful if they could put in a call to Yamaha to find out how long this diagnostic and repair will take - I also pointed out that my children are in lessons and cannot practise, with one needing to do exam preparation. The response? No, they won't call Yamaha. Does that sound like good customer service? The keyboard has developed a fault so early on, that good customer service would have been to immediately replace it at a cost to Normans. That is entirely within their remit and totally separate to a warranty. Two weeks in and still no keyboard and no contact from Normans, not even a courtesy email to say they are chasing up Yamaha. We are so incredibly disappointed in their service. This keyboard package was cheaper elsewhere, but we chose Normans; we chose wrong. Edit: tomorrow marks three weeks without the keyboard, and still no contact from Norman's: appalling service.

Axus D2 keyboard

Ordered an Axus D2 keyboard from their ebay website. Did come with some damage on one of the panels due to the delivery guys being a little clumsy. Phoned Norman's immediately and they sent a replacement part out the same day. The customer service was perfect. I would say you can buy with confidence with this company because of the great prices and the best customer service I've experienced in a long time.

Terrible customer service and miss sold.

Terrible customer service. Be very careful when looking to lease an instrument as it is sold as an affordable way for a child to learn and it's an absolute con. I paid nearly double what I would have if I had purchased the instrument. They then tried to make me send back the instrument with no suggestion of keeping it even after having over £500 from me.

3rd Avenue 1/4 size red guitar…

Found 3rd Avenue 1/4 size red guitar for grandson but before pressing button rang Normans who assured me it was in stock and I would receive within 2 days. No delivery charge either, so pressed the button, and received within two days. Brilliant. Well packaged. Beautiful shiny red first guitar with built in amp. Rocking! Brilliant service.

Cheap value for money instrument

Cheap value for money instrument, some defects on the finish, action on the fretboard is high and needs to be worked on, 1st string broke on tuning, crack evident between neck and body, one machine head button loose, good gig bag, nice people to deal with. Have played other instruments for years but just learning mandolin will see how I progress with this one.

I've been needing an amp stand for the studio for a while, and after looking around for one that has adjustable height, and is stable, and this one ticked all the boxes. I was expecting to spend a lot more than I eventually paid, and was delighted when it arrived. The communication was second to none, and the delivery was very quick. I will be using Normans again, and highly recommend them to anyone.
