Sea bass I had was delicious
We were looking forward to bringing my mother in law back to her native Padstow for her 89th birthday. The welcome was excellent and the staff friendly but unfortunately the fish soup was disappointing. Only warm, no hint of any flavour, apart from slightly burnt fish stock. Also felt very sorry for the waitress who dropped a saucepan of Bernaise into a gentleman’s shopping bag and all over the floor. The Maitre d should have apologised immediately and sent help for the poor girl, who was highly embarrassed, but sent another waiter over to get payment for their meals instead . It would also help if the Sancerre was pre chilled and not brought to the table at room temperature. We asked for the bill but the computer system for the restaurant had gone down so we had to wait for 15 minutes. We dined at the Mariners the day before, i’m afraid you have a bit of catching up to do Rick!
I first bought the hand wash and hand cream at the Rick Stein shop in Padstow . I have been using it ever since . People always remark on it when they use the bathroom . A lovely product and packaged beautifully .
Returning customer and love the Porthdune range. Always have this in my bathroom.

Ordered Monkfish tails,they arrived on time by DPD . Condition was perfect,surrounded by ice packs. The tails when cooked in a white wine,garlic sauce with a little crème fresh were a delight and the quantity was more than enough for two served as a main course.
Everything delivered as planned
The delivery company ignored instructions and left the parcel in full sun so the frozen prawns defrosted and couldn’t be used on the required date. The sea bass fillets had bones in them and the crab had loads of shell pieces making it a dangerous eating experience! Flavour and quality otherwise excellent.

The box arrived soaking wet and damaged. All freezer packs were defrosted and consequently fish had started to smell I threw away the crab as it was far too high to eat. I should have thrown it all away because I had no idea how long it had been unrefrigerated for.
This is the first time we have ordered fresh fish, and it want be the last time. Extremely good quality and portion size. Came with full instructions and menus. We thoroughly enjoyed all the fish. Delivered on time. Would highly recommend. Thank you Rick x
The curry paste was absolutely delicious- no complaints there! I hadn’t realised though that when ordering 4 jars, that it was fresh produce, which would go out of date within 5 days of receiving it! We managed to eat two curry’s and gave a jar away, but sadly one had to go in the bin!

Really not happy with your fish soup very watery and lacks taste maybe it’s just me but I do like a good fish soup otherwise everything else is excellent
We are a family of 9 persons who went to Steins seafood restaurant in Padstow at Easter March 2024,everything was as good as ever we have been there quite a few times we travelled down from Liverpool.We had our appetiser and starters awaiting our main meals a waiter came around and started taking the cutlery of the table and I quietly told him that we were waiting for our mains he turned around to me put his finger to his lips and told me to shush because his head hurt which I found to be very rude I didn’t want to make a fuss so I never said anything but another waiter seen what he had done and replaced all the cutlery and he never came near our table again and the other waiter apologised but it should have been the one who told me to shush who apologised.It spoiled the whole experience for me.
Another fantastic fish box from Rick Stein. The crab was delicious with the lemon mayonnaise. The hake was lovely, very meaty portions. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent tiger prawns as well as the most delicious cooked lobster. Also delicious but very much overpriced was the white crab meat ( nearly 3 times as expensive as in our local fish shop!! )
Wonderful book signed by Rick that I bought to gift to my brother and he loved it, as we’ve followed the TV series for many years. Loved the condiments - real quality and amazing natural flavours. Haven’t tried the cocktail yet but I’m sure it’ll be fantastic. Very satisfied and will buy again - good value for money.
