Rutland cycles Everards Meadows. Extremely frustrating, drove all the way to the shop to purchase some padded cycling shorts. Not a single pair of padded shorts either on display or available for purchase. The only padded cycling garments available which he tried to sell me was padded cycling bib, only one brand available at £161.00. Totally shocked and will not visit again. A huge shop with very little stock or no stock in this case!

Exceptional customer service from Jess at Rutland cycling

Cannot fault the exceptional customer service I received from Jess at Rutland Cycling. Jess went above & beyond with her kind and considerate assistance. I claimed on an Endura jacket warranty, as zip had broken. Jess' communications were empathic & showed much professionalism. She managed to get it all sorted out & made me a very happy chappie. You're a star Jess. Thank you. I shall recommend Rutland Cycling to my family, friends & colleagues.

Bought 3 year service plan - MK branch not trading

Bought 3 year service plan - went to get a spoke repaired and the Milton Keynes branch has closed - why were customers not told - you have my email address and phone - after sales - can’t comment because I am not going to get any so made a journey for nothing

After Sales service is dreadful

The after sales service of this company is absolutely appalling. I spent £4000 on two electric bikes in November 2023. On arrival the reflector on one of the bikes was snapped off, and the keys to remove the battery were bent and unusable. I emailed immediately & after veiled blame comments alleging misuse on our part,it was agreed the matter would be rectified,after months of continued efforts to get them to replace the reflector and the keys I am yet to receive anything from them & now they are ignoring my attempts to contact them. Buyer beware I wouldn’t recommend them at all. Once they have your money they don’t care.

Bike purchasing online

Purchased a Specialised bike online due to the sale price / availability within the UK. Matt Williamson who deals with online orders and distribution from their Milton Keynes store goes out of his way to ensure bike is 90% built, expertly packaged and shipped. Matt also helped in registering the bike with Specialized. I have no hesitation in recommending online bike purchases when Matt is looking after build, packaging and shipping.

MK don't respond to emails

MK don't respond to emails. First bike order, they had no record, ordered again then received txt to say bike was in, then nothing more from them, despite me emailing a couple of times. Finally contacted them to arrange delivery, thought I was all set, then when I called they said they didn't receive an email from me and had sold the bike. They didn't phone or email to say they were doing this. Won't be using them again.

Bike Hire Cancellation.

Hired 6 Electric Bikes in September for family on Boxing Day. Paid in full (£250). 12 weeks later we have been called to inform us they are cancelling our hire. No alternative or solution given, just "computer says no" Now we are left with no time at all to organise or book anything else.

Brake Lever Part Saved Me £50

Came off my bike and broke a plastic cover on my brake lever. Only replacement I could find was on eBay and cost £50+ Took the bike into Rutland Cycles at Leicester and they talked me out of replacing the levers and topped it off by finding a used replacement for me in their workshop. Perfect fit, brilliant service!

Ridley Carbon gravel bike invisiwrap protection

Having bought a Ridley Carbon gravel bike from another source, I thought I'd have it clear wrapped to protect it. I spoke to Ian in the service department and following his advice, purchased a kit from an external supplier. His workmanship to fit the wrap was exceptional and it was finished on time. All the staff are great guys and very helpful so please visit them, even just for advice. If I need a new road bike, it's going to be my first point of call. 🚴💨❤️

Best Customer Service

I genuinely couldn't rave enough about Rutland Cycling in Milton Keynes. Alex the sales chap was kind and patient with me and talked me through all the differing options of electric bikes. He even took me out on a ride round MK to test a couple of the bikes, which made my mind up that I wanted a Specialized. Now to save up for one. A lot of shops could learn a lot from staff like Alex who was 100% customer focused and wanted me to make an informed decision.

i would not go anywhere else now

so once again Rutland Cycles Cambridge have gone above and beyond, i used them in the beginning of the year after having mistakenly taken my bike to another shop that does bike and car accessories, only for them to butcher it, Rutland came to the rescue and sorted it out for me then with great service, on the 1st of October I'm embarking on a cycle from John O'Groats to Lands end to raise money for a local charity. i suddenly realised that i hadn't booked my bike in for a service and 1500km is going to take its tole on both me and the bike, a quick phone call to these wonderful people and it was booked in, when i arrived to have it serviced and explained what i was doing they couldnt have been more helpful Colin Especially. he made suggestions about alterations with a no pressure approach. gave my bike an ultimate service and even touched up where the paint had been scratched where the chain had jumped off. my bike runs better now than when it was new. and he even offered me some parting words of encouragement for when the going gets tough. Would i recommend them? I wouldn't recommend anyone else now! The cost of the service was very comparable in price but the service was fantastic Thank you

Like to offer my appreciation to Jim and the team in the workshop for a superb job tuning-up and getting my road bike in tip-top condition. A bit miffed!

A bit miffed that we hired three bikes and dog buggy and our Westie was really agitated and unhappy so after barely starting out, we had to return one bike and the buggy. We were told we weren’t entitled to any refund as there was no fault with the equipment. We thought that was a bit harsh, especially as the hire cost over £40 and we retained the other bikes so two of the party could continue. Not great customer service and we certainly won’t be returning ☹️

Terrible customer service

Just spoke to one staff this morning 10th August 2023 at about 9.52am about servicing my bike or just pumping my tires and he was very snappy and unempathetic. I couldn't believe it as usually they are polite. That chap needs training in customer service as he's a disgrace to the business.

Remarkable service

Had an usual case - the frame on my Specialized bicycle cracked after six years of normal use. A discussion with a friend prompted me to look into the warranty situation, which seemed a bit optimistic given the age of the bike but Specialized do indeed offer a lifetime frame warranty for the first owner - with the proviso that I had to submit the warranty claim via an authorised dealer. Remarkably, I still had the original receipt (from Rutland no less) so, with some trepidation I transported the bike to Rutland half expecting to be laughed out of the store. But no - they were sympathetic and agreed that the bike did not show signs of abuse and agreed to process the claim. It took a few days for Rutland to inspect the bike and for Specialized to review the report but I was kept updated by Rutland throughout the process and received a phone call from Leo in the Cambridge store telling me that Specialized had agreed to honour the warranty and I was to receive an equivalent, brand new, replacement! Remarkably, within 24 hours the new bike had been delivered, assembled and was ready for collection. Leo was even careful to transfer various accessories including the fairly new, decent set of tires to the new bike as they were better than the standard equipment. I cannot fault the service I received from Rutland during this process and would happily recommend them.
