Solid State were incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly, and their products are fantastic! I made an order on their website, which was super simple to use and navigate. After finalising the order, I sent a query to the team regarding two postage details. I would've been happy with the order as I completed it, but Sophie (an actual angel) replied super fast, and actually looked into the details of my order to find me a more efficient shipping solution. All the products received were of really great quality and smelled delicious, and everyone opened their presents on Christmas Day!
I bought this for a Christmas present it would of been nice if it was presented in a box or something, not just wrapped in bubble wrap , disappointing.
First time I got this "wax" perfume was about 3 years ago from my wife. I love this product because of its: - Amazing long lasting fragrance - Well designed and practical package - for daily use it lasts 6-12 months - good ration price/quality/quantity Also once I had a logistical/shipping issue and SolidState customer services were amazing, went well beyond my expectations, superfast reposnses, perfect solution offered. It’s a great product. The scents are accessible yet complex and deep and a great replacement for perfumes. Now, it does have problems, firstly the price: it’s not that it isn’t worth the price, however, I found that it’s much cheaper on a lot of alternate sites. Secondly: I wish it lasted longer. From my tests, it lasts 6-8 hours, so not quite enough for a full day. It’s not the worst, but it could be better. The packaging is great, love the branding. Also, I worried at first about the size of it for how much I paid but it lasts a long time.
After recently purchasing the new NERO fragrance, I got an email to say that there was a voluntary recall due to a defect found in some containers which affected the item I had bought. I was advised to dispose of the product and I was given a discount code to allow a completely free replacement item - Great! Naturally, given the populatiry of NERO, it was completely out of stock which was a shame, as the fragrance was super nice so instead I went for WAYFARER which is a take on Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille fragrance. Item came super quickly and smells equally as great. Now that I've bought 4 fragrances from Solid State, I can tell that their quality has been consistent in both product and service time and time again. Life time customer here!
Just made my 1st purchase of the new fragrance "Nero" - what a wonderful smell, unfortunately I received an email stating the batch was faulty and to destroy the item and order a new replacement free of charge. Excellent service provided and great correspondence by SOLID STATE - Will definitely use again. A*
First off - people putting 1 star because they have to pay import tax is NOT Solid State's fault - they mention import taxes are likely when shipping to EU. Stains on clothes? Then you're using too much, not Solid State's fault. You only need to use a little bit as it goes a long way. Anyway... First I saw an advert on social media that I thought was just another gimmick. Had a bit of spare cash and there was a sale so I bought the ICON and HAZE. They arrived super quickly and they smell absolutely delightful. I usually go for light/sweeter fragrances and they suit me perfectly. I've even been complimented several times on how good I smell and they last a surprisingly long time. Even the morning after applying I can still smell it on my wrists. Fast forward a few weeks and they release NERO. It just arrived today and smell divine. Much warmer tones so I'll be saving this for when the weather starts to get colder but I smell so god damn good, I can already tell this is going to last a long time. I can easily slip into my pocket or bag for a quick late day top up if I'm going out for date night or meeting friends for dinner. Prices are extremely reasonable and I think in the future, I'll definitely be buying the bundles for a year supply of the fragrances and likely even branching out to other fragrances too.
I thought give this product a try, bad, bad decision. Very neat, tidy package turned up, a natty little container with the “stuff” with a very insipid aroma. So first day of a holiday a very nice RL shirt to be worn. Used this product, it has ruined the shirt with large greasy stains on the neckline. To make matters worse I’m told to pay to get a refund. I lost a £125 shirt, no apologies and then insultingly they ask you to pay to return. In the bin best place. Do not trust this company. Nasty little products.
Absolutely not worth the money, it's a gimmick
I bought one off your items, as a gift. I am very happy with what I had bought. I had been waiting for a long time, when I got an e-mail from border control. Due to Brexit and me being in Denmark, I was forced to pay approximately £40 in toll to get the item. I would buy more items if it was not for the amount of money I spent on border control the first time. I hope that Solid State in some way can get around this problem going forward...
I wrote a review previously giving 1 star, but indicating I would amend if things turned out differently. Things did indeed turn out differently. I could not find my way back to amend the previous review, so here is a new review. After my previous review I was contacted promptly with a reasonable explanation. A couple of days later, the item did arrive, and my son, who we bought it for, is thrilled. The item was easy to order, came as advertised, and the long delay in shipping was reasonably explained. I would not hesitate to order again.
UPDATED REVIEW After writing my original review (3 stars - see below), I was asked to contact Solid State. They decided to compensate me for my troubles. Since I am still very happy about the product, I have no problem changing my review to 5 stars due to good customer service. I still hope that Solid State finds some way to handle the original problem with extra cost due to border control... --------- ORIGINAL REVIEW I had bought 3 x Supreme as a present for Christmas. Delivery was great. Love the idea, branding and the packaging, but sadly not the smell. This is a lesson that when it comes to fragrance you do need to sample before you buy.... it smells like lipstick, which may appeal to others, but I don’t like walking around smelling like the inside of a cosmetics bag I’m afraid. I’ll take this one for the team, mark it up to experience, and remind myself to carry on scrolling if I ever see an advert on Instagram. 💁♂️

I saw these guys advertised on Instagram, and thought I would give them a try for a Christmas present. As a designer, I loved the angle of a wax based aftershave, and was keen to try the Journeyman. I have to say it's an awesome product. The scent holds on clothing for ages, and comes in a compact tin which I can carry around conveniently. Great product, would highly recommend.
Big fan of this company and the products they sell. I have purchased pretty much all the wax based perfumes and it’s a collection now. The quality of the products, the aesthetics, and the scents are all very well thought out and manufactured. Their customer service is also very responsive and resolves any issues of mine quickly. Cannot wait to see what other wax based scents they release in the future as I’m a permanent customer now 🙂
I love Solid State fragrances! I carry one to work, the gym etc. It’s great not having to carry a clunky bottle around. My last order arrived in not the best condition, during shipping the wax had come out of the container and leaked. I mentioned this on my feedback not expecting any response and to be honest not particularly bothered by it. Sophie at Customer services contacted me asking for me details and they replaced my order for free! Superb Customer Service.
Been working at public retailer and I'm always interacting with customers and I've gotten so many compliments on my cologne. The subtle swipes throughout the day instead of going to the back and spraying every couple hours is just so convenient. The products are amazing and long lasting. Shipping is never slow and I've received packages before the date that is assumed. Customer service and live chat was also top notch aswell, gained a loyal customer today
Love this company, love the products and hope they continue to expand! This is a great product and will be back time and time again!
