Completely scam! Ended up charging an extra $250 for customs. Nowhere is it noted and you end up getting a bill from the delivery company after the fact. Before delivering it. They have a little question mark next to delivery, if you click on it. BEWARE.

You will always face issues! This time I am fed up and will write a truly honest review. Four years, I have been ordering from the luxury closet, sometimes I was happy about the quality of some of the pieces. But there’s always some issue that makes it really uncomfortable to stay a customer with the luxury closet. One time I ordered a new Dolce and Gabbana bag. They canceled the order because their system had automatically applied a voucher that I didn’t even apply myself in the system, and without notifying me, they just canceled the order, saying that the voucher was invalid and it was a glitch in the system. Needles to say, someone else bought that bag and I had to raise the issue with TLC. I did not write a negative review. Another time I bought a new Hermes belt, they were not happy about the price. They Canceled the order without informing me. I called when I did not receive the parcel and TLC told me that they couldn’t find the belt and that they were sorry that the stock must have been listed wrong or the belt disappeared (!!). The original listing was still saved in my wishlist. Two days later, I saw that the same belt was back online and guess what?! — with a much higher price under the same listing because I had still saved it in my wishlist. Magically they “found” the belt and RAISED THE PRICE. I called them. They confirmed that I that I had been misinformed and that it was actually a lie that the belt couldn’t be found. They decided to re-list the belt with a higher price. I did not write a negative review. These are just two examples. Today, I had an extremely unpleasant experience. I was monitoring a Gucci Snakeskin bag for a while that I thought was highly priced and I wanted to make use of their “Make an Offer” function to place an offer. This ‘Make an Offer” button is something that TLC facilitates! The TLC offers this option through a button on their website / app. I did so two days ago, the seller placed a counter offer. However, the system doesn’t allow you to reply to the counter offer and I called TLC. They told me yesterday that I would have to wait 24 hours and I would be able to respond to the counter offer of the seller. They refused to call the seller or activate the “make an offer” button again. The idea is that you will be notified via email, that your offer is accepted or rejected. — This is what TLC states. I do know that the bag stays on for sale. However, today, the seller changed their mind and excepted my initial offer. I was NOT notified via email and neither through SMS. I’m monitored the back every hour mornings and evenings and checked my emails, but in between checking twice the bag was sold. I saw this 30 min later. That would have been acceptable if I would have received an email or message and didn’t respond to it, but the fact that they offer you this notification but then don’t comply with it because their system is either too slow or doesn’t work is absolutely disappointing and frustrating. Their wishlist and “Make an Offer” is a total utter waste of time. I decided to just return another piece that I had initially purchased three days ago because I don’t want to deal with this frustration anymore. TLC cancels the order when it suits them, but they are not helpful to their customers when their system has a real glitch in the system that is a disadvantage to the customer and doesn’t notify the customer. Say negative things about Vestiare Collective, at least, they do offer you the option to respond to the seller immediately. The frustrating thing is that I’m monitored the bag for more than three days and called TLC yesterday to discuss the “Make an Offer” option with them at length. - Now, this is really frustrating. Today they explained, I did not receive an email because there could have been a glitch. There could be several hours till between the seller accepting your offer and you receiving an email. But this email didn’t come, the bag was still for sale. Gone! The funny thing is, it was gone for less than I wanted to pay for…. Because on top of my offer they added a sale voucher to the other customer. They refuse to make it possible for the buyer to make a counter offer. Why would I have to monitor the bag for three days if they are actually not even able to send an email. This was an utter waste of time and it was the last time !!! I recommend that you don’t make any use of the make an offer button and you don’t waste your time putting things in your wishlist. The frustration with the Luxury Closet is real! Update on TLC reply: Thank you for your reply and indeed your team reached out today. Regarding the yellow bag 2022, I did purchase the bag AFTER your team called the other customer who bought the bag AFTER you cancelled my INITIAL purchase without notifying me. So please let’s stick to the facts. And indeed, I was so annoyed by all of this, that I returned the bag.

Wannabe scammers. NEVER CLOSE YOUR PAYPAL DISPUTE WHEN THEY ASK YOU TO.

Terrible. I ordered without knowing they ship from UAE since it is not indicated anywhere on the page where you make your purchase from. I learned that just when DHL contacted me demanding that I pay 90€ more for customs duties. So I asked DHL to stop the shipping. They informed me that they could only do that if The Luxury Coset told them to do so and that I had to contact TLC to stop it. I contacted TLC kindly asking them to block the shipment, and they pretended to not understand what I was asking for. They started to talk about how much more expensive the customs fees are in other countries. Note that I asked them to block the shipment while the parcel was still in the UAE. At this point, it was clear they had no intention of helping me, so I took the business into my own hands and I contacted PayPal immediately. They assured me that, given the situation, even if I didn't accept the parcel and I sent it back, I would have been fully refunded. So, again, to be fair, I sent another email to TLC asking again to block the shipment (again, it was still in the UAE) since I would have never accepted it and It would have caused them more trouble (more shipping duties and PayPal involvement) to not block it. They completely ignored me. So when DHL called me because the parcel was in my country, I told them to ship it back or to have TLC pay for the duties. It got shipped back. As anticipated, knowing the package was on its way back to TLC, I opened a dispute on PayPal which they didn't respond to. What they did instead, was sending me an email begging me to close the PayPal dispute, guaranteeing that they would have sent me the refund as soon as they got the parcel back. Luckily I know what happens if you close a PayPal dispute, NEVER DO IT, you can't open it back. If I did so, today I would have lost my money. Anyway, instead of replying to their calls or their emails, I pasted the screenshot of them trying to scam me on PayPal. The day after I got my refund. BEWARE. Always pay with PayPal and NEVER EVER close a dispute on PayPal when the scammer seller asks you to close it.

BUYER BEWARE OF QUALITY CONTROL

I’ve purchased from LC several times, and all is good as long as you do not plan to return. They sent me a dress with visible rips on it, which I noted on the return form, and they are withholding to issue my refund. For anyone purchasing used items, BUYER BEWARE, the blame for damage will be shifted to the paying customer rather than on their poor quality control team - who should examine items ahead of listing and shipping them. The dress was sold as being in 'excellent' condition, but had visible rips on both sides of the underarm area- this item should not have been available for sale in the first place. I even made the return request for pick up within less than 24 hours of receiving the item. I find their quality control and customer service completely incompetent, the chat functionality and email responses are useless. Buyer beware, buy at your own risk. At this stage I just want my refund, and needless to say I will not purchase from luxury closet again.

The website stated the handbag was in good condition, but honestly, it's in pristine condition. It looks like no one ever carried the handbag. And as a bonus, the Louis Vuitton dust bag was included. I love shopping the Luxury Closet

I love shopping the Luxury Closet. They have really good pricing on luxury items, return policy makes it easy to shop with confidence, and TLC cash is a bonus along with frequent promotional offers. I have 4 stars because the customer service can use some improvements. FYI the “make an offer” option is almost useless, most offers are even denied at sometimes 20.00 or less of asking price or never responded to. In my experience I have made more than 30 offers some of which I offered 25.00 off price and it was denied. Out of the offers I submitted only about 3 were accepted.
